BERLIN — 16 May 2019 — GetYourGuide, the booking platform for incredible travel experiences, today announced the appointment of Ameet Ranadive as Chief Product Officer and Nils Chrestin as Chief Financial Officer as the Berlin-based company enters its next stage of global growth. The two executives have joined GetYourGuide’s management team led by CEO and co-founder Johannes Reck.

“The appointments of Ameet and Nils will considerably expand the depth and breadth of our leadership team,” said Reck. “As GetYourGuide enters the next stage of its journey with the aim to seamlessly connect more and more travelers with the most incredible experiences around the world, their growth-oriented mindsets and proven track records will prove invaluable. We’re thrilled to welcome them on board.”

As GetYourGuide’s first Chief Product Officer, Ameet Ranadive will be responsible for shaping the company’s long-term product vision and strategy. A Silicon Valley veteran with two decades of product leadership experience, Ranadive most recently led the Well-being product team at Instagram, which built systems and tools to keep users safe and mindful of app usage. Prior to Instagram, Ranadive served as VP and General Manager of Revenue Product at Twitter, where he helped grow the company’s revenue by a factor of seven in four years.

“Traveling has given me some of my most meaningful experiences and cherished memories,” said Ranadive. “My deepest passion lies in developing products that reflect bold, ambitious visions of the future, and GetYourGuide’s mission to give the whole world access to incredible experiences resonates deeply with me. The quality, passion and culture of the team they’ve built is a testament to the importance of the journey they’ve embarked on. I look forward to building innovative, world-class products that advance that journey together.”

As Chief Financial Officer of GetYourGuide, Nils Chrestin succeeds Josef Gatzek, who has held the role since 2014. Chrestin joins GetYourGuide from Global Fashion Group (GFG), the leading online fashion and lifestyle destination in growth markets. Chrestin played a key role in the post-merger integration of several regional online fashion and lifestyle destinations across Asia-Pacific, Latin America, CIS, the Middle East and India to form GFG. In his capacity as Group CFO, Chrestin oversaw several rounds of funding, the growth and development of global finance and legal functions, significant profitability improvements and growth of the business’ net merchandising value to €1.5 billion. Previously, Chrestin served as managing director and CFO for Lamoda, GFG’s business covering the CIS market. He began his career in the investment banking division of Morgan Stanley.

“The shift toward spending on experiences and creating memories is the most important consumer trend of the century,” said Chrestin. “This will have a profound impact on travel. In GetYourGuide’s leadership team, I’ve found a like-minded group that grasps the magnitude of this opportunity, and I’m thrilled to be joining for the next chapter of the journey.”
