James has worked in retained life science executive search for nearly a decade. James started his career in search at a NYC headquartered premier boutique life sciences retained executive search firm where he worked closely with Christos Richards’ (Partner) as Christos built that firm to a team of 40 while driving 4x in revenue growth and expanding the firm’s Board Practice five fold in as many years.
With a robust network at the Board, CEO, C-Suite and N-1 level of leadership, James has developed a specialization in highly technical and scientific searches. These include serving clients on the forefront of emerging modalities including cell and gene therapy, gene editing, and RNAi.
James joined Calibre One from Westwood & Wilshire where he established the company’s research unit, was the regulatory affairs Practice Director and within his first three years at the company established himself as one of the firm’s top recruiters.
Prior to entering the search industry in 2014, James first served as a Compliance Officer for fifth largest foreclosure trustee company in the United States, and then in the real estate sector with Active Capital Management.
He has experience in delivering high caliber candidates for management and executive roles in research and discovery, translational medicine, clinical development, commercial, finance, regulatory and quality for clients ranging from pre-series A to post-IPO. He has served clients across the life sciences sector, with a major in the field of biopharmaceuticals
James earned his bachelor’s degree in History from California State University, Fullerton. In his free time, he loves the ocean and spending time with his family.
