Betsy is a partner in Calibre One’s U.S. life sciences and healthcare practice. For the past 30 years, she’s worked with CEOs primarily in life sciences, technology and OEM verticals building communications and investor relations programs and consulting on corporate, stakeholder, and M&A communication strategies. Working both in-house and agency, she has served as a team member for companies undergoing major transitions, where she focused on branding, core messaging, CEO leadership, succession planning, and media relations.
Prior to joining Calibre One, Betsy was the lead recruiter for a life sciences retained search firm where she added leadership to startup, PE/VC backed, and public companies. She has built a book of business and managed the P&L at three companies prior to joining Calibre One. Betsy also built a consulting practice with retained clients in biotech, medical device, technology, and hospitality. Most of those relationships spanned eight to 15 years. For almost a decade, she worked with MBW Ventures, a VC invested in medical device companies, where she worked on the pivots of IOMED and Ventana Medical Systems into the M&A market. Each company was acquired for $1.5 billion.
Earlier in her career, Betsy was an executive vice president of The Financial Relations Board, the largest investor relations agency in the U.S., where she helped grow the San Francisco office from three people and five clients to over 60 people and almost 90 clients. While there, she worked with clients from Bay Area IPOs to Fortune 500 companies. Throughout her career, Betsy has directly consulted with over 60 CEOs on building their personal and company brands to attract stakeholders.
