Tom has been an executive search partner to technology companies big and small for 15 years. In addition to having participated in hundreds of senior-level executive placements, including CEO, CIO, CTO and VP-level roles, clients and industry executives have sought out Tom’s counsel and expertise on a number of growth related topics including executive assessment, incentive compensation, change management and leadership development.

 

Prior to Calibre One, Tom was a founding partner at a leading Silicon Valley boutique executive search firm where his firm focused on C-level and VP-level retained search assignments in technology companies falling into the consumer, mobile, digital media, healthcare, financial services, and software industry sectors.

 

Tom’s career in executive search was preceded by 10+ years of operational experience in high-growth, venture backed startups and he was an early, central figure in the bringing to market of multiple technology innovations. His efforts were instrumental in delivering to consumers the first web-based and mobile email products as well as ground-breaking anti-spam and anti-phishing SaaS solutions to the enterprise. Tom participated in multiple funding events and successful exits, including three startup acquisitions totaling over $200 Million prior to his joining XOOM.com, which went public after only 2 years and $10 million raised. XOOM’s IPO in combination with a $250 Million secondary offering resulted in 30x returns to investors and led to the company’s acquisition by General Electric (NBC).

 

Tom studied Political Science at the University of California at Davis where he also worked part-time at the UC Davis Career Center helping graduating seniors polish their resumes and interview skills. Tom was born and raised in California and resides in the Bay Area with his wife and two children where they enjoy skiing, golf, hiking in the Sierras, and fundraising for their local schools.
