Press Release
ParAccel today announced that Charles W. Berger has been appointed chairman and chief executive officer. Berger has more than 30 years of experience in technology and brings to ParAccel an arsenal of expertise in sales, marketing and finance. Berger succeeds Mark Lockareff, who served as the company’s interim CEO since January 2010.
“The data warehouse and advanced analytics industry is growing and changing at an exponential rate,” said Berger. “The business benefit of analytics is no longer a nice-to-have, it’s a necessity. ParAccel’s leading technology has proven to advance companies in various markets, such as the financial and retail sectors, ahead of their competitors. With ParAccel’s impressive sales pipeline and continued technological advancement, we’re looking at a year of tremendous growth. I’m looking forward to working with the ParAccel team and reinforcing the company’s place at the forefront of the analytics market.”
Berger has a long track record of successful CEO positions at companies including DVDPlay, Nuance Communications, Vicinity, AdForce and Radius. Berger was influential in the sale of Vicinity to Microsoft in December 2002. Prior to that, at AdForce, a provider of online advertising management and delivery services, Berger was an integral part of revenue growth, U.S., European and Asian expansions, and led the company’s initial public offering. Additionally, as CEO of Radius, a software and peripheral manufacturer to the Apple Macintosh market, Berger helped grow revenues to more than $300 million.
