Healthline Networks Names Former Google & AOL Executive, Maya Capur, VP Business Development

SAN FRANCISCO – February 16, 2011

Healthline Networks, the leading provider of intelligent health information services, today announced that Maya Capur will join the company as Vice President, Business Development. An Internet search industry veteran, Capur brings more than 15 years of consumer technology expertise to Healthline, and will leverage her search industry and health care management consulting experience to help continue the rapid growth of the company’s consumer internet and media network businesses. One priority for Capur will be to establish partnerships with healthcare providers, including hospitals, large physician groups and healthcare IT companies.

“Maya will be a tremendous asset for Healthline as we expand our presence in the healthcare and healthcare IT markets, building out our technology and media platforms. Her experience with leading internet companies and health platforms like Google Health will enable her to hit the ground running and make an impact on our business from the start," said Chris Tucher, Senior VP, Business Development at Healthline. "What’s more, Maya understands how the economy and regulations are impacting healthcare, knows the provider marketplace and recognizes that technology will help build a better system.”

Most recently, Capur led content partnerships for Google Health and Google Mobile. Capur negotiated partnerships with hospitals, health IT providers and payors for Google’s Personal Health Records (PHRs). She was a member of the Android launch team where she led partnerships with Android developers for Android Marketplace and worked with content providers for Google Maps for Mobile and Google Earth. During her tenure at Google, Capur hired and managed a team of fifty account operations executives to run the operations of multiple products including Product Search and Google News. She has also held senior-level positions with AOL and Looksmart, and was COO of Creative Good. Capur has worked with the Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic and other leading providers as a healthcare consultant at the Juran Institute. She has also worked for leading strategy management consulting firm, Mercer Management Consulting. She received her BA in Biology from Mount Holyoke College and her MBA from the Harvard Business School.

“Healthline’s semantic search platform affords it a unique position in the marketplace,” said Capur. “There is currently a huge opportunity for medical search technology: doctors and hospitals need to reach patients in order to improve quality of care and decrease the costs of treatment. And, PHRs are only a scrapbook without intelligence and decision support. Healthline’s platform will be the application layer upon which to build health services that allow consumers to actually use their medical data.”
