SAN MATEO, Calif., Aug. 8, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Kaptivo, the company which transforms any analog whiteboard into a digital collaboration tool, today announced the appointment of David W Hsieh as Chief Executive Officer effective July 16, 2018. He succeeds co-founder Dr. Nic Lawrence, who will move to an executive operating role in the company.

Kaptivo selected industry veteran David W Hsieh to lead the company through the next phase of growth where go-to-market execution and partnerships are pivotal. The company, which produces a camera and software that enables the secure sharing and saving of any traditional whiteboard, is growing rapidly, adding thousands of new customers and initiating partnerships with Crestron, HP, BlueJeans, and others in the collaboration industry.

Mr. Hsieh has a long track record in the technology collaboration sector. He has served in a variety of GTM operating roles in both private and public companies, including a decade of experience as VP of Products at WebEx and VP of Marketing for Cisco TelePresence.

“Whiteboards have largely been left out of the digital collaboration landscape because the existing solutions are too expensive and provide a terrible user experience. I saw this first hand at WebEx and Cisco. Kaptivo is a game-changing technology,” says David Hsieh, CEO of Kaptivo. “We have a world-class engineering team, a huge market opportunity, prominent partners and great momentum. I am honored and excited to lead Kaptivo through its next phase of growth.”

Nic Lawrence, former CEO and current executive, adds, “The search for this position was extremely competitive. I believe that excellence attracts excellence, which is why we were able to welcome David to the team. His deep industry ties and comprehensive understanding of the collaboration sector will help us achieve the next milestones for Kaptivo’s expansion.”

Alongside the appointment of the new CEO, Kaptivo announced the availability of the video conference integration that enables meeting participants to view dry-erase board content directly within the BlueJeans meeting. Kaptivo also upgraded its firmware to pair with the KaptivoCast HDMI accessory, which won the InfoComm 2018 Best in Show award.
